A Summons from the East:

On May 1st for our business meeting we will have our annual legislative meeting. We will cover all of the legislation in a very unique way. We will summarize each piece of legislation and ask for recommendations for me to take to Grand Lodge.

We also have a petition to read.

Please join us, won't you?

---------------------------------

Upcoming events include:

• A Peach festival planning meeting will be held after our regular breakfasts. Please attend to discuss the details for our involvement this year.
• Continued practices each Thursday at 7:30pm (We will not practice on the 4th Thursday, so that we can join the Peach Festival Committee for the next 3 months). Please join us for practice. Should you be interested in the Peach Festival from the Romeo Township committee perspective, please join us at those meetings as well, (They begin at 7pm at the Lion’s Club).
• We have rescheduled the benefit for Michelle Schultz, A new date will be set in our May meeting.
• We will have an awards dinner for Clare Tincknell and honor him for 60 years in the Craft, on May 24th Please contact me for reservations. (248) 789-7370

Extra assistance is needed with the breakfasts on both May 11th and May 25th. May 11th is Mother’s Day. If we can get volunteers we will participate.

I look forward to seeing all of you at our next regular communication on May 1st.

Please remember that this is your Lodge and it's success depends on your participation. Please do not expect others to make it a success alone. You can get so much more out of it, should you be willing and able to make some contribution toward it's sustainability.

As the Junior Warden's toast says, "Happy to meet, Sorry to part, Happy to meet again."

Fraternally yours,
Robin Handelman
Worshipful Master

Romeo Commandery #6

Greetings Sir Knights,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Officers and Members of Romeo Commandery for electing me a your Commander for the next year. When I became a dual member, I was in hopes to become an Officer, but never dreamed that I would become Commander this fast. I therefore Thank each and everyone for the opportunity to serve.

Many Thanks is needed to our Grand Installing Officers: SK Claude A. Miller, SK Robert C. Ickes, SK Terry G. Baker and SK Roy A. Ickes. They did an outstanding job of Installing the Officers of Romeo Commandery. We also need to thank SK Clare Tincknell and SK Frank Smith for being a very important part of Romeo Commandery for so many years, Thanks.

We still need Help from the members of Romeo Commandery. The Office of Senior Warden was not filled. If you know or would like to do the part, Please contact SK Frank Smith our Recorder.

Eastern Michigan Battalion also meet at the Romeo Masonic Temple before the our annual conclave. They discussed the Officers of the Battalion for next year and when the next meeting will be held in June. Eastern Michigan Battalion needs to be Thanked for their attendance at our conclave. The impression that was made on our new Officers by them being on the side lines was one that they will always remember.

Please Keep our members of our Armed Forces, where ever they may be dispersed around the globe, and our sick members of Romeo Commandery in our prayers.

May God Bless Each One of You,

Romeo Chapter #19, OES

Greetings from the East:

We have another busy month ahead of us. Our regular meeting will be on Tuesday, May 8th with a potluck at 6:30 and our business meeting at 7:30. The following week will keep us occupied as we start with a Mother's Day Breakfast on May 11th. We expand our regular menu to include French Toast. This is a nice treat for the mothers in your life. Won't you bring them in to celebrate the day?

On Wednesday, May 14th we have a Red Cross Blood drive from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm. We do need your help to keep our blood supplies up. Even if you are not able to donate, you can help by reminding others of the drive. Please see that a notice of the date and time is placed in your church bulletin.

On Saturday, May 17th we will be celebrating our Chapter's birthday. We will have a catered dinner at 6:30. The dinner cost is $15.00. After dinner we will have a presentation on antique glass slides. These slides are beautiful and the program is very well done. This is an open meeting and we welcome you to come and enjoy the beauty of this unique art work.

We will be serving breakfast again on Sunday, May 25th. If you are not going away for the weekend, please join us. I know we will be a little short on dining room help, so please try to make some time for helping out.

The Euchre party (Wow! Have we been getting a great response!) will be on Friday, May 30th so that we don't have a conflict with the Memorial Day Weekend. We start play @ 7:00 with the doors open for registration at 6:30. We have a lively group of players and a great evening of food and fun. Where else can you have a great evening out for $13.00 each and still have the possibility of coming home with more in your pockets that you left with? Come out and join us - meet the "players".

Those of you who were not able to come out on April 15th missed a great potluck and evening of fellowship. Through our 50/50 drawing we were able to collect $70.00 for the Relay for Life. The Roseville Relay for Life is the same week-end as the one here in the Romeo area. Roseville is sponsoring a team for their Relay and asked that we turn over this donation to our Relay. In addition to the great food, fellowship and opportunity to provide funds for cancer research, we were entertained by a world class whistler and her great-grandson. They provided us with many different styles of music. Ronnie and Jonathan were warmly received and enjoyed entertaining us.

Come out and join us as often as your schedule and your health allow.

With fraternal love,
Pat Bruen , Worthy Matron

Romeo Masonic Temple Board
Monday April 7, 2008 Two members absent

The health inspection resulted in our being sited for the back room area not being up to code. To bring it up to code a room is to be constructed in the area of the air conditioning compressor to house the two refrigerators and a freezer now in back room area. The reason being any food carried to/ from has to have proper protected floor/ walls in case of spill. The High school is to be contacted to see if they will take on the build as part of the civic work project for their building class, (Enterprise High) and we supply materials and /or a donation. Electrical will follow.

The replacement refrigerator in kitchen to be ordered once approved by Board of Health, information given to Walt.

Replacement rug in waiting area upstairs ordered from Macomb Carpet, it will have non-slip pad underneath.

Awaiting price on replacement stainless steel table with two drawers for area next to stove, approx delivery 6 weeks.

Front display case by front door is to be removed from premises.

Maintenance of boiler to be taken care of when shut down.
