Dear Sisters and Brothers:

I hope you all had a blessed Easter and are enjoying the fact that spring is upon us with lots of sunshine and flowers.

The last few months have been very eventful and your officers are working hard to ensure that we handle your Chapter affairs in a fraternal manner and that we represent your interest as members in a way that reflects favorably on the Chapter and the Order of the Eastern Star.  We appreciate your input and ask that you become as active as possible so that you know the challenges we face and can provide your opinion on how best to address the business issues of your Chapter.

It is a great pleasure to welcome Michelle and Harry Schultz as new members.  We had a beautiful initiation with the help of our Sisters and Brothers from other Macomb County Chapters.  The work was impressive and we left the Chapter Room to find that we had surprise helpers who had cleaned up the dining room and washed the dishes.  A special thank you to Mike and DJ.

Our business meeting will be on Tuesday, May 4th with a potluck @ 6:30 followed by the business meeting @ 7:30.  I hope to see you all there.  We will have our East, West and Conductress night on May 18th with a potluck @ 6;30 followed by an evening of fun and entertainment.  This will give us the opportunity to visit and enjoy the company of the other sisters and brothers from our area.

Don’t forget breakfasts on the second and fourth Sundays and the Euchre Party on May 21st – we moved that to the third Friday so that it didn’t fall on the holiday weekend.  We also have a Blood Drive on Wednesday, May 12th.  Help us spread the word as we would like to get back up to the 100 mark with the number of donors.

Take good care of each other and make sure you let your officers know if anyone needs a card of cheer or a note of encouragement.

Fraternal love,
Pat Bruen, Worthy Matron
